I need some free HD testing software... Any suggestions?

Hey all,

I've got an other pc here on site, and I'm pretty sure its the HD, have swapped out with another and lock ups go away. But I want to be 100%, is there any free software out there that will tell me if the HD is fubard?

most brands have free diagnostic software that you can download and run from a floppy or cd, what brand hard drive is it ?

does the harddrive have SMART technology?

go to the manufacturers webpage of the hard drive and grab the diagnostis software for it, it usually fits on a floppy and lets you run tests on the hard drive
