hi
I want to learn more and more to see as beautiful what is necessary in things; then I shall be one of those who make things beautiful. Amor fati: let that be my love henceforth! I do not want to wage war against what is ugly. I do not want to accuse; I do not even want to accuse those who accuse. Looking away shall be my only negation. And all in all and on the whole: some day I wish to be only a Yes-sayer.

Welcome to SpeedGuide! Kick your shoes off...Sit a spell....
The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout. There are weapons that are simply thoughts, attitudes, and prejudices to be found only in the minds of men. For the record, prejudices can kill and suspicion can destroy and a thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has a fallout all of its own for the children and the children yet unborn and the pity of it is that these things cannot be confined to the Twilight Zone.

It's a girl, what did you expect?

Half the guys are busy slicking down their Alfalfa style cowlicks and the other half are busy trying to get the first half back into their cages.

Wow, thanks everyone....a drag queen usually doesn't get this kind of attention!!! :p j/k

Seriously though, I'm going to be lurking around and wading through your tech posts. That's what I need the most. It will take me light years to learn, so I'll be the one asking the dumb questions.

Thanks for the Zebra pic. I am guilty of conforming occasionally, but I think it might be a distinct advantage here!

All you guys who I missed, I'm very impressed. Show me your dark sides and I'll feel much more at home. LOL jk

Thanks again for a great thread!!! :thumb:

I couldn't let the thread go past without an input, so here I am. Mmm... sooo... how about that weather hey?

On a more serious note, hi and I like parrots too. Sulphur Crested cockatoo at the moment, he's the better part of 15. Also got a cockatiel, she doesn't like me. We had a Galah, but she flew away... ironic because we found her wandering around in a park talking to herself. Had two love birds, but the dog attacked their cage and broke it, so they got away. Had a budgierigar, but the dog ate him.

At some point in life I'd like to have another large parrot, maybe an African Gray. Goffins sounds like fun but haven't come across many. Looked after a corella for a while, it grew quite attached to me infact, they're not very exciting birds though.

Thank you so much, Vinnie. The weather is fine and the fish are jumping....or something like that.

No offense, my new friend, but you sound too careless to have critters in your care. I feel sorry for every pet you've ever owned. Do us critter-lovers a favor and get stuffed critters!! You can neglect fake critters.

God bless and keep the critters who haven't perished under your care yet.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll enjoy knowing you if we don't share news about our critters.

Once again, thanks for the welcome!! :2cool:

Thanks for the welcome. The people here at SG are superior beyond a shadow of a doubt. I'm so glad I found you all. I am not sure I will give back as much as I can see I will benefit from being here. But, I'll hang out as long as I am welcome.

I have checked out your folding program. I think it's a wonderful effort. I will be giving it some thought and may participate eventually.

Once again, I am very impressed with this august group including the staff. :thumb:

I feel... hurt, lost and confused :(

Budgie wasn't my bird or fault, the galah and love birds went back to nature and everyone else is happy.

I apologize if I have hurt or offended you. I will admit I was spanking you for not appearing more conscientious about the safety of your critters. My hope was that you would become a bit more insightful about your responsibilities to our captive critter friends and that would make you a better caretaker.

I did it for the critters. I hope we can be friends. You seem like a nice person. :)
