Have you looked in your documents and settings directory to see if they are really gone yet?

Actually, they ARE in C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Favorites, but they aren't showing up in IE. I'm not sure where the "Links" are stored. At least I didn't lose them all. Any idea on how to get them back in IE?

Copy them over to your user account, its different than your admin account. Or just log in as the user and not admin

Did that already. I'm the only one who uses this laptop. There are 2 profile folders...Administrator and All Users. Favorites are now in both but I still can't view them in IE. I updated nAV corporate version and adaware- ran them both, but no changes. Rebooted several times. No dice. Appreciate the suggestions Sid. Got any more?? tHANKS

Think I fixed it. I copied all links and favorites from C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Favorites and pasted to C:\WINNT\Favorites

Although the links are now in a different order, at least I can get to them!!

Thanks for the help Sid.

OK. Now, open IE and click teh File Menu\Import & Export and export Favorites. They will be saved in a file called bookmark.htm which can be imported if ever lose them again or can be used after a fresh OS install on any computer, or can be imported into any IE on any computer.
