Does your PC clock loose time? Sounds like your cmos (BIOS) battery may need replacing. I believe the checksum error could mean some settings in your bios have changed. If it happens every time you boot up I would suspect the the battery is failing.

You say you reset the BIOS, which way have you tried? Did you use the load failsafe default option from in the BIOS setup or did you clear the cmos with the jumper? If you haven't I would use the clear cmos jumper, read the instructions and do it with the power OFF. Swapping processors may have messed up a bois setting, FSB or something like that.

well i did the samething in the manual take off battery change jumpers from 1-2 to 2-3 then put it back like it was and it will load default settings but i still get the error and i can't get into my bios menus so. I want to flash my bios but i dunno how i mean i have to make a AUTOEXEC.BAT file but i have no idea what to write inside, and i have to put in the AWDFLASH and the bin files. I have already try that but i don't work so i guess i'm doing something wrong probably with the AUTOEXEC.BAT file

If you go to Bootdisk.com you can download an image file to make a bootable floppy for flashing your BIOS. After you make the floppy, copy the award flash program and the new BIOS file to the floppy. Boot from the floppy and then run the flash as per the instructions with the flash utility. Read the instructions carefully before you flash your BIOS and make sure you have the correct BIOS for your board. If you screw it up you could turn your motherboard into a big paper weight. The bootblock should save your ass if something happens, like a power failure half way though, but it doesn't hurt to be careful and know what your doing before you start.

I've seen that error before. I believe it was because I didn't have a floppy drive plugged in and had one specified in bios. Try unplugging the floppy drive and set bios to none for the drive.

Might need to leave the battery off longer, some batteries take 3-5 mins to clear completely.

thats normal with a new cpu, try just going over to the cpu settings in bios and look them over, then save and exit.

Have you tried to flash that board already?
It sounds like a flash gone bad. :(
I wondering if it's stable enough to try and flash it now!

Ok I just wanted to make sure. Which processor is in now? If it's the new one I would put the original one back in. If it's the original then I think you may have hosed your motherboard. Did you take precautions to prevent any electrostatic discharge between you and the processor or mother board?

Ok, it sounds like had the bases covered. You have tried everything I can think of. I hate to tell you, but I think your motherboard is kaput. You could try to flash the BIOS, but I don't think it will work if you can't post and boot up to a floppy. I'm out of ideas.
