installed the driver for it or tried using some of the generic joystick drivers with it?

gone into joystick/game controller properties and made sure the device was selected and calibrated>?

I installed the drivers from Logitech site .....Went to the control panel but it's saying that the stick isn't connected .....Maybe the joystick is broken?

could be. kind of hard to tell.

gameports with some soundcards can be finicky/problematic.

have you checked your device manager to see if the device (that gameport) is, according to windows, working properly?
