Give it some time everyone. vB3 blows away vB2 in just about every way imaginable. In a week or two you will see what I mean. ;)

I've added a light color scheme, it's not completely finished but it's a start. It's user-selectable from the user cp, or simply in the lower-left corner of pages, there is a style selector.

Hi Philip

Could be just me but there doesn't seem to be enough of a line delineation between posts on the main page and it is confusing to read at a glance. They all seem to run together.

A thicker line, or more space would be better imho.

Thanks

Much better! The icons could still use a little work, but that'd be a definite backburner project. :thumb:

Suggestion:

Cool dropdown menu when clicking an avatar. The link to 'view John Doe's homepage' should be target='-blank'.

Nice work Philip, as usual! Now that I can easily see my total amount of pms, what's the limit? :D

If you REALLY have too much time on your hands at some point, arrange the smileys in a more logical order... like  :irate: :rtfm: next to each other, as well as :nope: and  , and so on.

One thing that I REALLY dig is the WYSIWYG posting mode. Saves me the time of checking if I got all UBB codes and img links correctly! :thumb: (Warning, leads to increased use of smileys :D )

Oh, and is the rating system here to stay?

thanks for the positive comments SoC, doing what I can :)

The smilies are in alphabetical order of the code I think... I'll look into it. I'm undecided on the rating system, will let it run for a while before we decide on it.

I said more skins would be nice earlier but I didn't know they cost. :o I should have figured as much I suppose. It's a nice change for the most part.
Here's some links regarding VB 3 skins:

http://www.extremepixels.com/skins_vb.php

http://www.designcontest.net/forum/showthread.php?t=942

So I assume that you guy's do a custom theme here for SG built off a template?
//Looks around//
Not bad at all. It's gotta be time consuming I'm sure.

We customize copies ot the default template sets, yes. With small upgrades most of the templates remain unchanged so it is not a big issue, however everything had to be redone with the upgrade from vB2 to vB3, that's why it took a while for both light and dark style to be operational.

Thanks for those links, some sweet styles there :)

My only major complaint right now is the identification icons... These things.

I like to glance through the index page but the current icons make that task very aggravating.

I like the themes/styles whatever you call it these days..

I'm actually using the 'Light' Theme right now
this is not as bad as it was on vB2, I used the Dark Theme..

great Job Philip :D

one small complaint.. :p
the Post Icons used to be above the txt/type area, now they are below.
I was used to hitting [tab] [space] to submit reply.
now if I tab, I end up down there, so I have to hit tab again :p

this is just a little thing, it will take me a while to get used to, and I am prolly the only one that does that too... :p

Not a problem Philip. :) Yeah they do have some nice skins there. I tried working with visual styles to create custom themes before. Frustration got the best of me and I never did get too far with it. ;)
When things are in a state of flux, we need to remember that change is an aspect of growth which cannot be avoided. Lest we suffer from severe atrophy. :D People don't always deal with change well because it disrupts their routine, which can be viewed as threatening by some. In time the smoke clears and everything seems to fall back into place. A new routine is than formed with what is now familiar.

Small bug I found.

Was subscribed to the Digital Media forum before the upgrade. When I click the Unsubscribe from this Forum link in my userCP I get this error:

Hi Philip

If not already mentioned the " Forum Jump " go button could be moved up a few inches imho. Kinda awkward to use where it is.

Thanks

I just noticed that when you are in private messages you have the drop down to go to sent or inbox. Below that there will appear a link for message tracking (if you have anything in the folder). However, once you follow the link and delete all the messages in your tracking folder, there is nowhere to go.

You don't have a dropdown in message tracking. I think it would be nice to add that one in :D . Otherwise you can't go from message tracking to sent to do your clean up. You currently have to go back to your inbox then you have access to the dropdown to get you to your sent.

Just an idea ....
