TCP/IP in DOS
Does anyone know an easy way that I can use TCP/IP in DOS 7. I've got an application that runs on this stand alone computer in DOS and it needs to connect to a Novell Server. Currently it works fine for IPX but I need TCP/IP. I feel that some files are missing from the Novell Client software. When a batch file called "startnet" runs. Does anyone know any other DOS software that I can use in DOS to setup TCP/IP.
Not that I use Dos with any networking, but see if this helps.

The MS network Client 3.0 is free.
Also some links here that may help you.

Good luck!

Maybe for a I.P.Address ? ... or going on the Internet...
Yosc, have you every been on the internet with a 386 @ 16 mhz and 2 megs of ram, running out of Dos? I have(really)
, it's fun. LOL Happy!
Ghost..
Just curious, why you want to use TCP for DOS software, IPX and NetBEUI (granted you can't use NetBEUI with Novell)...work much better for networking conventional memory hungry DOS apps.

Eh, I had fallen out of computers for a bit during that time, was into them prior to then (A lot of Basic, little bit of Fortran and Watfive) got back in with Win3.x.
But had a lot of experience with networking DOS apps, from Bootdisks even on workstations sans hard drives. Back with was more Artisoft networking than Novell, and PcAnywhere version 5.

This pc is used to download specific DATA to machines I work with. It's old technology but it works. We've used it like that for years but our LAN drives were IPX and we've just recently converted to IP. The DOS app is a old X-Menu style program were we store the DATA for downloads.
I've tried the Microsoft Client software but it doens't seem to have the TCP/IP protocal. Just Netbios I think. Also, I need to find the drivers for the NIC. I'll try again on Monday. Thanks for the help.
