I was deliberating over this the other day when I realised there wasn't a single female actor I particulary liked. I'd never really thought about who I liked as an actor until I realised I was looking for Pacino movies...
So, after much deliberation, I've boiled it down to the following list:
Al Pacino
Robert De Niro (pre-comedy days)
Tommy Lee Jones
Morgan Freeman
I think that more or less covers it. Females.. the only one I don't have any negative thoughts about would be Audrey Hepburn I suppose... but that's kinda adopted from the partner
Originally posted by WhoNut Sean Penn and Ed Norton have done some pretty damn good stuff lately.
I like Ed Norton. I think he's done good things and he'll do better things in the future.
Sean Penn wasn't the best ever I don't think in Carlito's Way, which was the last film he was in I've seen I think... don't remember him in much else though o.O

You've missed a lot...Dead Man Walking, U-Turn, She's So Lovely, The Weight of Water, Mystic River and 21 Grams are all very good to excellent.
And the part in Carlito's Way was spot on if you've ever been around a coke user.
When they kick at your front door, how you gonna come? With your hands at your head, or the trigger of your gun?
depends....lifetime achievment:
MOrgan Freeman
James Earl Jones
Tommy Lee Jones
Sean Connery
Viggo Mortenson
Meg Ryan
Robert Duvall
Richard Harris
Laurence Fishburn
Just cause i like them:
Nicholis Cage
Angelina Jolie
Meg Ryan
Charlize Theron
Christian Slater
Newer Guys:
Ed Norton
Russell Crowe
Brad Pitt(shut up)
Tom Cruise(this one scares me...hes actually made a few good ones lately)
Johnny Depp
man there are too many to list
Every normal man must be tempted at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats. I often wonder if the voices in my head ever get frustrated because I'm just too damn lazy to climb that clock tower.

Well ROTFL, Skip, it ain't gonna happen; you'd better get back to buying armor upgrades off eBay.
just for the crybabies.....
Bush won, get over it snivelers. Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O'reilly
Hello canada LOL!
Don't forget Sean Penn in The Falcon and the Snowman. Awesome movie! I think Sean, in spite of his weirdness and political views is one of the most underrated actors alive, along with Sammy J, named above. I doubt Sean will ever get the recognition he deserves.

Because of his outspoken views one must think. This I feel is holding him back. He's an outstanding actor IMO>

The Academy are a feisty bunch of conservative old farts. But, they can surprise us from time to time. I predict that Sean remains seated as the Best Actor winner is announced.

Personally, I hope my prediction is 100% wrong. I'm rooting for him, but the competition, as usual, is pretty tough. He's not a shoe-in, that's for sure.
why? they made fight club work on the screen. could you imagine if it was vin diesel and the rock instead? both are quality actors, inparticular norton is really capable of pulling off diverse roles.
