Video Card Guru's: Gigabyte or Sapphire?

Post by chimdogger »

I am building a system for a family member and need your opinion on a video card.

Gigabyte or Sapphire.

I am looking at the 9600xt model. I would normally get ATI but they seem to be sold out at the moment. Gigabyte and Sapphire are available and seem to get good reviews.

Any comments are appreciated.

Thx :)

I'd go for whatever software bundle you like better, factored in with price. Both great quality (Sapphire actually makes most of the video cards for ATI that are sold retail by ATI in the US market...they're ATI's biggest partner, make most of the cards that are sold under other brands also)

dam you had to order before i got to say. My friend has a saphire 9200 which just died after having for about 6 months. I never liked saphire personally i would choose Powercolor or asus. Were you getting this at your local realtor or newegg?

Don't like sapphire ?? If your friends card died he was probably overclocking it way too high. I've heard nothing but good things.

I'mso sick of this TNT2 since I fried my Ti4200 ... I'm really REEHHHEALLY hoping to have the cash for the 9800 next payday in two weeks.

The 9600 XT's are running like 200 bucks. You can probably find it about 10-20 bucks cheaper if you look around.
