Although I don't use ZoneAlarm(nor any other firewall, for that matter), I just noticed today that removing it from a computer is now among your list of tweaks. I was just curious as to why.

Zone alarm takes up alot resouces when running in the background and it does seem to eat bandwith post after post people had nothing but promblems with zone alarm. Zygate i have used is really really good simple free but have a pro. I haven't tried outpost but alot of people that i know from the forums who have probably more tech education then i do use and love it.

Thanks, McCoffee. I tried out Sygate awhile back and got tired of all the warning pop-ups every time I went to a different site, so I got rid of it.
You must have not told it to not remember your answer (to allow a certain app). Sygate is probably the easiest firewall to use, just select "remember my answer" and allow something and you never see anything else about it unless something in that app changes.
As for ZA, it is a resource hog as mccoffee said and causes more connection issues than any firewall I've seen.
