Opinions on absolutely best file eliminating software

Post by YeOldeStonecat »

I've never dabbled in this stuff before, but someone asked me if I knew what software was the best in eliminating files..like lets assume within 30 days all the hard drives in the company were to be scoured through by professionals to look for traces of files.

Acronis DriveCleanser 6.0 is the best I've used. All of the Acronis utilities are top notch.

Hmm...looked good...until I noticed it looks like it only wipes entire drives/partitions. Needs to keep computers running, only wipe selected files/folders/data.

Oh sorry I thought that is what you needed to do. They also make Acronis Privacy Expert.

I've used CyberScrub Pro for over a year now...I used to use BCWipe, but this one blew it away.

The best is Eraser. It can be run without any damage to existing fles. What it does is 'erase' the already deleted data on the disk.
No one has any right to force data on you
and command you to believe it or else.
If it is not true for you, it isn't true.

CyberScrub Pro has various levels of deletion/wiping, from basic wiping all the way to what they call the Gutmann standard, which prevents both software and hardware recovery and is "better" than the DoD standard.
