are there any fully functional maglevs being used in the USA currently?

Negative, just monorails that run or rubber tires.


No maglevs buing used/built in the USA that I know of, only ones are in Japan... might be one in europe though. Don't know for sure.

No Maglevs, althought many of the lattest roller coasters use the LIM and LSM drive technology to launch directly from a standing stop to full seed in mear seconds.

Having ridden in the cab of a Mark VI monorail at disneyworld a couple months ago, I realized why the things ride so rough, the gaps between the guide beams are sometimes off by several inches.
Incase you dont know, if you want a cab ride just ask at the platform the first group to ask, gets the cab seats.

cool, thanks for the info guys

Maglevs interest me, I like the technology, its simple yet very fast, effective and clean for the environment.

I hope it makes its way over here, i'd love to see the railroad business converted to Maglevs or the like myself.
