Although the drive has some marvelous electronics in order to provide an accurate write, it can only write cd-r @ 24X.

BUT this don´t answer my question: Is it possible to burn at 8x DVD-R Speeds my Ritek G04 Spec DVD-R ??

Pioneer DVR-A07/107D:

Pros: very fast 8X write speed and also excellent write quality on DVD media, can read DVD-RAM discs at 2X.

Cons: no 8X writing on any 4X rated DVD media under current firmware version 1.05, more expensive than the NEC ND-2500A (AVILOGIC.com currently quotes $152+shipping for the OEM drive), also slower but still acceptable CD-R write speed at 24X.
