Backups and Cracks ???

Post by kalbster »

I own games from Risk to Medal of Honor to Max Payne.

I would like to make backup copies of them or use no-cd-cracks or both, because after an all-nighter playing sometimes I for get to take the CD out of the drive. Then the kids get to it and it all over but the scratch repair.

I would like to know a good source for cracks, or a good program for backing up cds.

I don't get my friends disk, then make copies. Heck none of my friends even like to play computer games.

I'm just tired of replacing games that I've already paid for once.

(Maybe that's thier idea)

haven;t used no-cd patches for awhile, since there is pretty much only one or (at max) 2 games i play at this point.

check out http://www.gamecopyworld.com ...... its where i used to get my no-cd patches. just be forewarned.... sometimes no-cd patches can screw with the game or your system.

Thanks, I used one on one of my games, but I formatted my hard drive and didn't back it up.

I'll check it out.

I understand why the companies do this to the games, but it sure makes it a pain in the butt.

Every normal man must be tempted at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.
I often wonder if the voices in my head ever get frustrated because I'm just too damn lazy to climb that clock tower.

yep http://www.gamecopyworld.com gamershell isnt primary focused on cracks, like BF1942 if you use a no cd crack you can't play online, for call of duty you can't join pure servers.

those are my 2 expierences.

You can use alcohol 120% and copy the disk to be backed up on to your hard disk and then mount the file as a virtual drive. This does work w/ BF42.

Thats what I do B. No it's not in bad taste, long as you own the games. I just made an ISO of both of my discs, then I just start daemon tools before I run DC. Don't even need to keep it memory resident.

I went to Alcohol’s web site and checked out their user’s manual. I’ve never seen a program that will do what this one will. I’m going to download the trial version and try it out, but if it’s half as good as I think it’s going to be I’ll be coughing up the bucks to buy it shortly.

I also need to back up my kids DVD’s (They’re pretty rough on them). Is this the best program for that too? I heard that DVD X was good, but I’ve never tried it.

I use GameDrive from http://www.farstone.com. Yeah, it did cost a few bucks ($18USD) but atleast it supports a wide variety of games and seems to be legit. *shrugs*

Just get any program that can make ISO's.

Then download daemon tools, its free. After you create the ISO, go into daemon tools, and mount the image. It will create a virtual drive using the ISO, and whenever you start BF, just start daemon tools.

I'm pretty sure there are a few proggies that can make ISo's that are free.
