Grandpa's Pine Tar Soap.

When I was a little kid, my dad shampooed my hair with tar soap, a brown bar kept in a tin container because of its strong smell.

I'd forgotten about it until my barber, a very wise man, mentioned that asphaltum was supposed to be really good for your hair. That rang a bell so I looked around for it and found that it's still being made. I've been using it twice a week now for about four years.

We use Quantum....Only available at the hairdressers...It comes in a quart bottle with a pump on it....

Worth far to much money....$40.00 a bottle..But 2 Daughters..1 Wife...I'm outnumbered...Ivory soap does me fine..LOL!!

Shampoo is a scam (for women, and suckers) :D

Just use the same bar of soap used for all else.

Soap is soap.

Shaving Cream.
I want to learn more and more to see as beautiful what is necessary in things; then I shall be one of those who make things beautiful. Amor fati: let that be my love henceforth! I do not want to wage war against what is ugly. I do not want to accuse; I do not even want to accuse those who accuse. Looking away shall be my only negation. And all in all and on the whole: some day I wish to be only a Yes-sayer.

As a kid that's all we used. Shampoo was the EXPENSIVE alternative we never saw.

Ivory leaves a film, try Irish spring.

I've even used dish soap when the bar soap ran out. It's very strong, so you must dilute it a little :)

Soap is soap, and suckers are suckers :D

For the women out there (and the fems :D ) collect rain water to wash your hair. It makes it real soft. Or try a beer.

Everytime one of my girls comes to visit, a whole assortment of bottles are left behind. I put them away for the next visit but they bring a whole new batch instead. It's like a chem lab.
