Gulp, gulp...

Post by Brk »

Wednesday night it hit.

Stomach flu. From both ends.

Been in bed most of the day...just woke up.

Family is pissed because I didn't show up for dinner and since I was out like a light, I didn't even hear the phone.

The very thought of Thanksgiving food makes me wanna hurl.

A very nasty flu season is upon us. This one kills people and not just the very old or the very young.

Take care of yourself, Burke.

Hmm, is Burke the first SG victim of this year's flu season?

By all accounts this one sounds to be a very nasty one, the worst in years. Apparently it has been cropping up in senior's homes here in Ont. earlier than usual this year. The news this AM said that 4 people have died already, 3 seniors and one child, though the child also suffered from a pre-existing condition.

I wasn't going to get the shot, but I'm rethinking that one...

As much as I HATE commuting, I think I will also give public transit a miss. Subways, trains and buses will be very nice breeding grounds for this. Also, it would probably be a good idea to wash your hands very frequently and thoroughly. Also, if you have kids in school, keep and eye on them as well and MAKE them practice good hygiene. Kids seem to like to swap bugs like trading cards...

Sounds like Burke has just a stomach/intestinal virus. I hope you feel better soon Burke.

I refuse to get the flu shot. I only had the flu once in my life. As long as I focus on my health and keep my immune system healthy, I'm really not worrying about it.

My approach to illness is a lot different from others. The more we focus on "flu season" and "omg this flu is bad," the more we will be open to get that illness. JMO :)

Nope, I had it last week. Wife has it this week...except she has it much worse. Infected sinus, tonsils, bronchitus, and into her lungs..filled with fluids. Doped up on codiene, taking the Z pack anti-bi, and some new steroid inhaler for her lungs that comes in this funky purple disk inhaler contraption.

Sorry to hear that Cat, hopefully she'll start to feel better soon.

I missed the flu last year (I didn't get the shot BTW) but a visit from Mr. Norwalk more than made up for it. Ugh, just thinking about it makes me queasy.

Well the guest on Coast to Coast AM last night was talking about how victims of the Spanish Flu were dug up so that scientists could synthesize more virulent strains of it for use as a bio-weapon...population reduction and all sorts of other scaaaaary stuff.

I'm a guinea pig! I'm Patient Zero!

Maybe if I explain this to my family they won't be all pissy. I mean really, folks, like I ASKED to get sick. Yeesh.
