Collector WWII model planes

Post by LT-73 »

A friend of mine called this morning asking if i would go to her house and check her pc. It's an old relic ( the pc, not her!) and she's having problems.

I take my quick journey and get to her place. I look at the pc and it's a desktop Sony Viao P1-166Mhz with 32mb of edo ram and runnin win98 :rotfl: i did my best to bring the hunk-o-junk back from the dead. She also asked me to install her webcam.
Had lots-o-fun with that  but finally after several hours and winding it up , the pc is up and runnin :D

I was rewarded with a porkchop dinner, a giant pack of frozen porkchops lol, and several neat collector's Edition WWII Model airplanes ;) Brand new and still in their boxes. I don't have a camera since my other friend took it back, but these are what i have:

P-51D Mustang
B-17F Flying Fortress

and 2 newer ones:
F-4J Phantom II
F/A-18 Hornet

The set is called "Protectors of Freedom" from The Heritage Mint.

By the looks of them they seem to be made of wood, but the detail is incredible! They look so real!! Man i wish i had a camera right now! This is so kewl! ;)

Here we go: http://store.heritagemint.com/escalate/ ... rangeNum=6

They do look nice. They would make for a nice conversation piece at your place all in how you saved a Sony. :D

The stands come with each plane but it's to display on a desk or something, not on walls. I'll prolly hook up from the ceiling :D

The ceiling would be cool. Use a push pin and some fishing line. Cheap and looks cool. ;)

Only back then if we didn't like the plane we made we would rig up a rubber band between our fingers and shoot paper clips at it from across the room. :rotfl:

Those are the same models they had on sale up at the grocery store here recently...most were running for either $19.99 or $29.99 depending on which size you got...
