I wouldn't mind being around 35 years old, in 1966. Just so I could drive a brand new Shelby Cobra off the show room floor.
Other then that, I want to live in the future. I know what has happened in the past, I would like to see what new technology is in the future. 100 meg wireless to the house would be nice.

Sliding down the banister of life ..........................
Planet earth is probably going nowhere. We will probably fark it over (it's only a matter of time) to the point where no life could be on the planet for a few billion years, but I doubt the planet would be physically destroyed (a la Death Star).Originally posted by Brent
if the earth is around that long and not blown up
Humans will destroy themselves, and possibly every other living being on the planet, but the planet will likely remain.

I want to live now. Everyone is always eulogizing dead scenes0 and eras, talking about how great the 60's or 70's was or how amazing london was 40 years ago or how great new york was 70 years ago. WHen I was in japan the old timers would talk about the money boom of the 80's "Oh, you shoulda seen it, year-old tvs thrown out on the street for spring cleaning...tokyo was moneyville, we'd blow 600 dollars partying on a weekinight," and on and on.
But for every scene that dies, another one is starting up. But its too close to people's faces for them to see it for what it is or romanticize them yet. I want to get out and find the new thing.
I was always psyched for the future when I was a kid, but now its here and its cool enough. I want more new technology, but its coming at a fast enough rate these days to keep me satisfied.

Nice post, very well put.And I agree. But part of me wants to go back to my childhood. It was a great time.
I want to go back to my senior year of highschool sometimes...but if you go back its just a bunch of kids you don't know, and you're not part of it anymore. Even if the scene doesn't change, you do.
Sometimes I get excited thinking about Atari and stuff that was big when I was 4. But if I went back to 82 I'd probably play donkey kong for 30 seconds and be like, "Hey, this sucks! And these saturday morning cartoons on TV are soooo juvenile..."
