ok am i the only one that thinks this is blown way outta proportion?!!??!
Im in connecticut where the power went off for a little bit 2 or 3 times. the prez called a state of emergency and i missed the end of Scrubs because he had to talk about it. Every 2 seconds they have to mention that this is not terrorist related.
Its just a power outage people!!! Ya it sucks that these nyers had to walk home but damn, a state of emergency??
We make fun of 3000 french people dying because of the heat because texans deal with that kinda weather all the time, yet the power goes out in ny and the prez needs to talk on TV.
God forbid people get a little excersize in because they cant take the subway or we cant watch our TV because everyone decided to over use our ACs at once!
ok im done
I missed the first half of OAK vs SAN FRAN. Thats not a tragedy?

Hi to All
My power went down at 4.PM yesterday and just came back on at 2.50AM today= 11 hours.
No problems of any kind. I live in the country and am prepared for these things, it is however a pain in the butt.
Now the hard part of finding out What the Hell happened and where.
They say a Nuclear Power Plant in Pennsylvania had to Shut Down in an Emergency???
No one seems to Know at the moment.
Well at least this should Take Arnold Off the Tube for a few days.
Thank You Lord
Have a Good one
regards
minir

Well Debbie's still without power in New Rochelle and Axtrader has power, but the cable company that supplies his ISP is out.
They called me this morning freakin out. I can only imagine what they must be going thru without their pc's![]()
She's a lovely lady LT, you're very fortunate. She also gives a terrific massage. And that thing she does with her tongue.....Great Balls Of Fire! Wow, I get goose bumps just thinking about it.
Yeah, I'm with you Prey. I guess we all take it for granted.Originally posted by Prey521
My power came back on at about 11 PM, then went out again for about 10 minutes, then came back on and has been on ever since! Man do I take electricity for granted!
Check this out. I take the wife to IHOP in Teaneck about 11:00 this morning. When we get to the lobby of our building there are a group of people, about 5-6, that are just getting home from yesterday's work day. Unbelievable.

Okay, you got that off! Good one Prey! You prick!
BTW, I have seen you and your lovely wife there. It was about 2 months ago, on a Saturday morning. I remember you kept shooting spitballs at your wife while you were waiting for your food. Very mature. My wife and I bet each other how long it would take your wife to slap the sh*t outta you. We waited and waited. Then.....POW! She punched you square in the mouth. You jumped up from the table and ran out of restaurant whimpering like a little girl, blood gushing profusely. We all felt bad for you, but we couldn't stop laughing. BTW, you get that tooth fixed yet?
And yeah, I lost the bet ($5.00) but it was worth every penny.

Argh! i just a power outage!
It's not "just a power outage" It was an outage that affected 50 million people. When the power goes out for any extended period of time it has a huge economic impact. All the freezers and refridgerators full of persiable goods are wasted. Nothing works. The water pumps shut down and there is no water. The sewage treatment plants shut down and raw sewage flows into lakes and rivers. It's one thing for a couple houses it be without power or even a couple communities. But The East Coast Midwest and Parts of canada? To classify an outage so large that it affects 50 million people as "Just a power outage" is ignorant and ridiculous.
Respect it.
Power was down for me here in Toronto from 4pm yesterday until 5am this morning. Was anyone else watching CNN at 5am (EST) by any chance. They were taking callers for the blackout and one guy asks, "would you bang Howard Stern?". I lmao.
Just got through a 1 hour rolling blackout. I expect more....
