On road...no laptop..

Post by MRB »

Caring laptop thru airports plus weight is not fun all this years.
My work requires accessing my pc and network at work for files down load etc, etc.
Most places I go they have Internet access.
I down this service at my pc at work and I can access from any computer as long
have Internet connection. The cost beats dragging my laptop every time with me.

VNC will do that for free. VNC has a java interface that u access.. u just need the external ip of the machine (or u can get a dyndns.org addy to it so u can always just type in a free domain)

I used VNC before run into some problems like firewalls routers ,ports to be open at my client pc, requesting permission from adm. etc etc. plus time .
I personal found this easy to use and not to deal with all others issues when using other people pc’s.
Since my company pays for service no complains from my side.

Have you thought about getting one of those custom made pelican cases with foam cut outs for accessories? They even come with wheels and expandable handle like a suitcase. Even multi- colored too.

I have a light blue one without the wheels since I don't fly as much anymore. Protection is unbeatable.
