Christmas time for me --- New (used) Car

Post by AAF Striker »

Well, today I went and looked at a 1994 Camaro Z28 with only 12,000 miles. It is in perfect condition! I love my Mustangs, but as long as it is American made and has power, it has my name written all over it. I am doing all the paper work and picking it up Tuesday, I can't wait. It has an SS hood on it, but I am putting the original Z28 one back one ;)

Man that is really clean for a 94
Doesn't look like any paint fade either.

Looks like a great find. Well done.

Fine car but I hope you don't have to work on the engine. Changing spark plugs is a nightmare under that hood. Unbelievably crammed engine compartment.

is it a 6 or 8cylinder?

I assume Z28 = V6?
SS = V8?

how old are you?
you're going to be paying quite a bit for car insurance..
looks nice though..

No, the Z28 is a V8. My parents have graciously decided to put the car as a pleasure vehicle on the insurance in their name for me and I will take it out on days off work and nights for crusing around. The car was amazingly expensive at $11,000, but it was very very very nice. I have the cash and decided to go for it, I was shocked when I saw it. Just need to watch my foot on the street becuase one ticket and the parents own it  I just have to show them I can handle the responsiblity. Anyway, it looks like I will be able to keep it looking good since I will be storing it over the winter.

Changing spark plugs might not be so fun, but I am used to the crammed engine compartment from our Cobra.

Thanks guys!

Edmunds lists it at 275 HP and 325 ft lbs. TQ. but I can only guestimate what it will get to the rear wheels. It already has a cold air intake with a K&N slapped in. It also has a 52mm throttle body, headers, catback, and double barrel shotgun exhaust outlets (which I am not really too keen on, but I can easily change it down the road when I get the cash) It also has a nice Hurst shifter that is so smooth. The car was simply amazing and I can't believe it didn't have more miles for what was done with it. This guy is the 4th owner I believe....

Thanks minir and Optking

The vent isn't fuctional, and I am not paying for ram air to get a whole 6 HP to the wheels if that.... I would rather keep it stock looking than falling into the fake ss category, mixing/matching, etc. It looks good but I really don't want to deal with all the crap that could come with it.

Thanks JBKM & CableDude

With those mods and a healthy motor, you should see mid 13's. As long as you can drive :D

And alot of the kinda ugly rear-end of my WRX :D

Nice ride there AAF. Dad gonna disown ya for gettin a bowtie rather than the Pony? Put some decent tires on the Z and you'll have a blast. I suggest some Bridegstone S-03's, what fun those tires are!

Nope, he'll keep me :D He was looking for either a Mustang or a Camaro. Just didn't run into any ones that met his expectations. I asked him when we went to look at it if he would have bought it. He said if he would have came across this before the Cobra he would have definately taken it especially since the price difference of what he paid. My step-dad likes all of the American cars pretty much, even a few imports that are fast that aren't riced out. Tires are going to have to wait a little bit until I can save some money up :D I told him I could beat him, but he quickly said, I can out spend you, and ain't that the truth lol. He could probably slap a blower on anytime he wanted.

I am considering the SS hood still.... not sure yet. I told the guy that I was going to take the Z28 hood, but I am not sure. He left the signed title for his wife since he is leaving for vacation tomorrow morning. I am sure he won't care one way or the other on the hood I want. On a side note, I actually freed my day up for Monday and I am getting it tomorrow!!!!

Thanks CoolJ and Brembo ... I was waiting for CoolJ to finally make an appearence in this thread ;)
