Stupid DVD's!!!!!!!

Post by Prey521 »

Damnit, I have a ton of DVD's...from very old to very new, and not 1, I MEAN NOT 1 of them uses damn angles..what the heck gives? It's a waste of a feature if you ask me....the only DVD's that I've ever heard of that have angles are the porn ones....Anyone know any movies out there that use the angles feature?

i assume angles are views from different cameras running simultaneusly? well... i know of a band dvd that does that... only it seams a little lame... plus it takes up space for the real junk on the DVD... i mean, i dont think an actual movie would have many cameras running at once... generally a director will get multiple shots from different angles at different times then cut later.... it wouldnt work well to include the different cameras on a DVD

Yes, few do use them. The one I'm pretty sure uses angles is The Matrix, if you play the White Rabbit version. Not sure of any others. You might peruse dvdreview or some sites like that.

I can't stand movies that aren't in their original aspect ratio. :p

As far as the multi-angle thing goes, it's more of a gimmick than an actual "feature" to be used while watching a movie. The only places you'll probably find them (aside from the porn, of course) is to access special features. A few music video DVDs (such as the Criterion Beastie Boys one) show different edits, or different angles on those tracks.

I agree. great thread here about a year or so ago byt BJS on widescreen vs. pan and scan.

The edited version cuts off around 35% or so of the original shot from the sides.

Why would anyone want to watch that?
