win xp help!!!
I use win xp pro. Today I change my domain and workgroup to connect the laptop to my home net work. After changing I'm not able to login to the computer. I think after making changing I have to creat or change a user. Now how can I login to change it back? I have to use it in my office tomorrow!. I don't have administrator's password, but my user name is an administrator's level.
If you haven't logged into the system then you should be able to use last know good configuration. If you have logged in after you made the change then this is going to work. Did you change the domain or the workgroup? are yo running a windows domain?also you can scroll through the stand alone and domain login at the login screen.
I un-cheked domain and checked workgroup. In the office we havve domain but no workgroup. In my home I don't have domain but have workgroup. I remember after changing, I saw a small user windows something came up. I didn't pay attension just re-typed my user name, maybe password too. Then I rebooted PC. That's it, I can't login anymore. Even use the old user name and password. Also I tried my boss's user name and pw which I'm sure that it hasn't changed. But it does not work.

There is no need to remove the domain login setup. Even though the laptop may not be physically connected to the domain (meaning, say you take it home, or travel around hotels if you're a road warrior, etc)....an NT based OS can still have the domain login....and be able to log in using local credentials. The user does nothing different....same method of logging in.
You don't need to change workgroups either to match your home workgroup for network browsing to occur. You can very easily do a "Find Computer"...or "Search for Computers". Different workgroups just means you have to dig one layer deeper in Network Places.

OK, now I use a free password reset software to change Administrator's password. Now I can login to administrator account. From the program, I can't see my user name and my boss's user name. The accounts I see are Administrator, Guest, local user. After I login as administrator I still don't see our accounts. But our folders are there. I don't understande where these account went. I can't change domain and workgroup now. I think I have to connect it to office network then change domain. Hope that I can see our account after I change domain.
