The best ram to OC with

I need some good ram to oc with i had a gig of samsung pc 3200 and my Abit BH7 puked it ,I have been looking at the corsair,kingston, and geil. I am running a p4 2.4b, I will go with a single 512 stick this time.

all three r good. most ppl like corsair more..and in my experience it's great..haven't had the $$ to try some kingston hyperx or geil yet..hope to tho

Sorry about this but what is better the Low Latetency or the regular , I am guessing that pc3500 is the way to go

Low Latetency. 3500 and up yield higher will a higher FSB and thus a better OC.

To me RAM is RAM. What makes it different is the latetancy and the chips used for it. Its core design is generic for the most part. Some makers vary the amount of voltage it will accept to a degree or include heat spreaders. Other than that its the chips used which dictates its quality.

Out of all the RAM I've ever purchased, the best overclocking RAM was a stick of PC3000 from the much-maligned OCZ. Corsair is awesome stuff and overclocks well, but to this day, nothing has touched that OCZ. When the stick went bad (maybe from a bit of overvolting? heh), they sent me a replacement within three days, free of charge and no questions asked.

The general consensus will be:

- Corsair
- GeiL
- Kingmax
- Kingston HyperX

It's a hit or miss with crucial. I had 2 sticks of pc2700 which would'nt run at the rated speed. Then i got 2 sticks of pc2100. i got that biotch up to 360Mhz. Go figure

Since I've started OC'ing lately I want to replace my generic Ram. My board excepts up to PC2100, but since I'll be OC'ing my rig now should I buy something higher say like PC2700, or does it even matter...I'm new to OC'ing!
