Does anyone have a clue to what the proper size page file should be? I have read so many articles and they all have different opinions or theory's. As you can see by my signature I have a basic Dell computer 2.33Ghz with 3GB ram.

Am I dreaming or does this really happen? It seems that when I lower the values of the two settings my pages load faster but my download speed decreases. If I increase the values my pages load slower but my download speed increases. Im trying to find the perfect setting.

It may look good to you at 1680x1050 but the icons are very small, and that is running one monitor. When I run the dual view it stretches the resolution across both monitors. That is probably why I have to run 2048. If I were to run the dual monitors at 1680 the icons would be so thin you wouldn't ...

Well, heres the deal. I set the monitor up by itself and tried a few resolutions. Sorry for the crappy pics. Used my cell phone. I'll start with the resolution it should be set at.

The reason it shows up as 1024 is because I run dual monitors using NVIDIA horizontal span mode. If I was to capture the whole screen, which would be both monitors, it would be double. 1024 x 2 = 2048

This is my 1st wide screen and my 1st LCD. Maybe its going to take me a while to get used to it. They are very bright with a lot of contrast compared to my CRT.

Sorry. Updated the video card a while ago. Never changed it in my signature. I have to set the resolution to 2048 x 768 to get it to look decent.

I just bought a 22" Wide screen LCD Monitor and I cant seem to find the proper screen resolution. It says to set it to 1680 x 1050 but that doesn't look right. Any idea's ?

Well your not going to believe what it was. I opened up the case to find a ton of dust built up all over. It was inside the fans and in the grids on my cpu heat sink. Im getting a physical memory dump when playing LinksLS2000 direct IP.

Thanks guys. I tried the optimal settings in the optimizer then tried to tweak them a little myself. I still get faster download speeds plus my pages load faster with cablenut. Never hurts to try things.

Thanks mccoffee. I understand that you prefer cablenut. I wanted to give the optimzer and try and compare the 2. If cablenut works better I will stay with it and visa versa. I would like the settings to try in the optimzer if you know them. Thanks again.

There is nothing in Windows 2000 that will do it. I will look for some sort of theme editor. I am assuming by your post that this is an option in Windows XP . Thanks for the reply.

I dont believe Windows 2000 manages itself for the page file. These setting need to be adjusted depending on the amount of ram installed. The white pages recomend the minimum set at 1.5 times the amount of ram installed and 3 times for the maximum. Only problem with the maximum is Windows will only ...
