I have already checked and turned off the firewall. And i am able to ping the both system. Anyone face the same problem?

I am a system integrator for more than 10 years. Recently there is such above
problems worry me so much.
I discover this problem during my delivery to one of my client 's office. It
was a simple LAN connection to a switch of 2 computers with Windows XP Home.

I was trying to save some word document and when i click save as and pool down the address bar to save in, my system hanged.......

I have tried reintstalling office and Internet explorer.... none helped.... any other suggestion or solutions???

I did try to run a startup disk to run setup on my Win98, Scanning files and system is okie... But once it reach Scanning System Registry..... It Scan for more than hour...... not moving....???? What Shud I Do????

It overwrites all but when i try to boot up, Can`t get to windows due to different configuration in registry. Was redirected to command prompt. When I try Scanreg, its say the program is too big to run in memory.....

I have a problem with my harddisk boot sector. The original harddisk is infected by virus, I pluck into another PC and do virus scanning. But no virus was found on boot sector......

I low format the hard disk and fdisk/mbr the hard disk.
