a good free firewall, Zone Alarm. With zone alarm it will stop 99% of the script kiddies and lamers out there. Unless your going to run a web server that gets high view counts or a web server that you sell stuff on. Zone alarm should be all that you need.

1550 down and 365

You failed to tell us if thats in bits or bytes so i made a littel chart for you.

b=bits
B=bytes

Bx8=b

b/8=B

so if yours was bits heres it in bytes

1500/8=187.5 down

365/8=45.6 up

Your original numbers most likely were in bits so now that you break it down, your speed is ...

but how long will that cable modem last?

technology increases each 6 months. That cable modem will be outdated in less than one year and eight months (10x16 months). why pay 200 dollars up front when you can lease it for 16 months for 200. At that time technology will have advanced and just lease the better modem after that. just a waste ...

There is problems with WIN2k and Zone alarm only if the person sitting at the desk does not know how to properly set it up. Thats just my two cents i use Zone alarm pro 2.6 and never had any problems at all. you run it as an 2k service and everything should be ok/

It will still record the new ones to the same text, all you did was flush the old stuff away. If you need it very bad just get a dat recovery program to get it back, but i dont see whats the bid deal about deleting it?

Before you click any links on the second popup just exapnd it to maximum size. Do that a couple times and you should be ok. Sure you could go into the registry and look around, but its not worth messing anything up if you dont know what your doing, lol.
