I can't say that I disagree with you, but I'm pretty tollerent (=lazy) about most things anyway.

I usually rebuild 3 to 4 times a year, but I've been languishing with a KK266 for 6 months that I just love, so I haven't done anything with mine - just for others.

I have been reading some of the ...

Is TCP/IP loaded?

Can you click on the repair option just below status in the pop-up?

Sounds like maybe you should delete the NIC in system properties & reboot to reload drivers - or you could do so manually.

You'll likely have to renew the address, subnet mask & default gateway.

Start, settings, network connections - righ click on local area network, select status, support tab - check "release" button then renew.

Thanks for the links.

I had searched "activity light" before posting.

Here's a more detailed look at the wierdness: I power cycle -leaving the modem unplugged from power & the RC connector for 10 minutes. Turn off computer and completely disconnect power.

Reonnected modem power & connector ...

Wierd prob - activity light

I've done a good deal of searching & haven't seen anything addressing my prob:

Stats - surfboard 4100, Netgeat FA310, duality WinXP/98 SE, Athlon processor, GeForce card 256 MB memory.

Last week I replaced AT&T's SB3100 with my own 4100. Yes, I had an AT&T tech do it.

After provisioning I couldn ...
