The one I had to RMA 3 times. Call Maxtor and tell them your drive is dead. They'll replace it.

I have a similar case... well I have a HDD rack like yours anyway... when I moved the hdds appart I noticed I had better airflow. If yours ar set up like this then oh well. Consider using V-Cool if you're not already. It'll drop your idle temps a bit.

I'd back up all data, which you should do on a regular basis anyway, and see how long the drive lasts you. If it's just noisey and you don't experience any performance loss, keep the drive. BTW how big of a hdd are we talking about and how old is it?

Couldn't you just make them longer yourself? You need wiring to go to the front of the case then back to the 3 pin CPU connecter. I highly doubt TT will make the wires long enough. But they might make it possible for you to acces the switch from the back of the case, only because the hsf would most ...

Try touching the power connecter when the drive is on. If it makes the same noise, you might have a bad connection. Happened to me once, I replaced the molex and everything worked fine.

Just use an old speaker connector. It fits on the power pins and you won't have to rip out a power button from another case.

If you can get the switch and wires from the other case, I would ditch the switch and connect a toggle to the wires. This way you'll have proper connectors for the motherboard and an awesome looking power switch. Me thinks me should try this mod myself...... :D
