Also, please note that thqat driver is called 'Sample Driver'.......there are others, but the 32meg size is a problem. I have tried all of the versions out there, and the best that I have found is RamDiskXPPro..........but in the end, none gave me the performance boost that they did in either 98 or ...

I have tried all the RAM disk apps on XP, and all have issues.....the best is still RamDsk2k and it will work fine as long as you do not have any NTFS drives and/or partitions......the second best is RAMDISKXPPro................but in the long run, no RAM disk truly makes it with XP ...

Even though I don't like cats, on my system it is not slow to bootup. Complete boot up is about 60 seconds from power on to last startup program running. But then again, I am running a dual PIII 1 gig (oc'd to 1.1) on an Abit VP6 Raid with 1.5 gig Ram.....................

RamDisk NT will work on XP as long as you do not have any partitions that are NTFS. I am currently using SuperSpeed XP and it is giving good results. I have also tried the M$ Sample Driver and RamDisk, but they were buggy.

for 16-bit app support

It won't work for WinXP or Win2000, however, you can still add it if you want to, as well as the 'ConservativeSwapFile=1', or any other that you might want to. Just add it to the last line under the 386enh section as you would in Win98................

Yes, I have applied all the tweaks. I have now a PIII 850E with Win98SE. This is a link to my previous post showing my best speeds, but my average speeds are about 2500.

I found that not all vxd files will work this way. AS well, inf's will cause problems and some dll's. If you have a problem,replace one file, reboot, and try again.
