well i take any job VERY seriously. the only reason i am leaving is because i can get more hours better pay and more benefits at this other job. Plus it has a very good working environment. anyways, id also like to have it in writing as of the exact date i quit so that they cant pull some funky stuff and try to keep me some extra days or something.

Hi TheAntipop
Your on the right track imho TheAntipop.
When i was in Management and someone tendered a resignation i usually tried to have a one on one meeting with them if i felt them to be an asset to the Company, to see if i could dissuade them from leaving, or at the very least to see if i could learn anything to improve working conditions that might stop others from doing so as well.
I also appreciated the Notice and normally if my efforts to retain the employee failed i used Their offer of whatever time specified ( within reason, generally up to a month) to pay them out and let them go immediately.
Nothing like a disgruntled employee spreading the word in your Company as they finish out their time there.
Time and people change and you never know where You or the Fellow or Company you just left may end up.
Leaving on as good a terms as possible is never a bad idea.
Hell i turned down a job once with a Company that approached me and a week later they had bought out the Company i was with.
It worked out well as i had been very positive about the Company i was with and gracious to the the person who was kind enough to have offered me a job with his Company.
Yep! turn in a written notice imho.
I like your style, good for you.
Good Luck on your new job.
