Not much you can do about your upload, but click on the Tcp/ip Analyzer in my sig and post the results (make sure you XXX out your IP address), also do a speed test from Speakeasy (also in my sig) choose the location nearest to you and post those results. :) :D

P.S. Welcome to Speedguide. ;) :)

well when i clicked on the tcp/ip thing it only came up with this:

Connection parameters retrieved

but here is my speed test

** Speed 807(down)/225(up) kbps **
(At least 16 times faster than a 56k modem)

OK, download the TCPOptimizer (in my sig) open it and under the settings tab select your NIC from the network adapter selection, cable modem and optimal settings then apply changes and reboot to take effect. Then run another speed test and see where you are. :)

** Speed 1286(down)/297(up) kbps **
(At least 25 times faster than a 56k modem)

didn't help upload much and i have applied a different tweak that makes my upload go to 2mb but doesn't change upload at all

You can't do anything about your upload. Open your device manager and select your NIC then right click and select properties go to the advanced tab and look for a setting called "duplex mode" or "media type or sense" and set it to 10mb half duplex or 10 baseT (whichever you have), also while you are there look under the resources tab and see what Irq is assigned to your NIC. Now go to start - run and type sysedit close the boxes until you are at the one that says C:\SYSTEM.INI in the title bar, scroll down to the [386enh] section and under the last entry type IrqXXbuffer=4096 (XX is the Irq assigned to your NIC, if it is a single digit number put a 0 in front of it i.e. 09) if it was Irq 9 it would read Irq09buffer=4096 then select save and reboot to tkae effect. :)

Please click in my signature where it says Test tweak here, then:
At top where it says edit click and select, Select all,
Then go back to same edit button at top, click and select copy.
Come back to Speed Guide, same thread you were on, in post reply box, with cursor blinking at begining of box go to top, edit, click, select paste, click, this will put information in box. Please X out your IP address, Thank you. :)

You know I'm just stating this for the record. My last speed test result shows on a 768/128 DSL .. I get 648/136. I don't know what is wrong I wouldn't mind suffering a little bit of upload for some more download.
get it up, get it in, get it out, and don't mess up my hair!

Lobo... you are entirely correct.. but the You'll part.. I had cable until they switched from @home to charter.. when @home left they took 3 networks with them I think.. leaving only 5 total for the state when charter took over. meaning all the cable modems were getting capped on that end for 2 weeks there I couldn't get but twice the speed of a 56k modem... I signed up for DSL shortly there after because the price seemed right.. but when I got it up and running with the greatest of ease.. I couldn't find anyway to fix my little problem with "MaxFrameSize".. all my questions have been answered by BobCarrick .. as it stands there is no fix for Enternet 300 software to get MTU optimized for broadband.. yeah only because its PPPoE with Windows 2000.. well it happened with Windows XP. And it Happened with Linux too. So its Enternet 300 Software and Speed Stream modem to blame. I've tried the tweaks here on Speedguide and the only ones that don't work are the XDSL Tweaks.. not bad.. all the rest work.
I've had my run around with the ISP now Its a waiting process for me.
300 days away and I'll be back to cable. :D
