Should prostitution be illegal?
Should prostitution be illegal?
Just wondering what y'all think of this one.
If one person wants to pay another to have sex, who is anyone else to tell them no?
Gross, yes.
But illegal?

Greetings from the fun nazi...
Prostitution preys on the vulnerable. You may think the sex trade is just a local girl gone bad or city street walkers hustling for dope money, however it is an epidemic of slavery and abuse.
Women and girls are smuggled into the US to work in clandestine brothels. Many think that they are getting maid or restaurant jobs. Instead, they serve as a wet sewers for horny men to dump their seed (and whatever diseases they maybe carrying). They are often hoping to make money to send home to needy family members or to actually start a life in the US. Typically, they receive little of the money they earn.
That bit of unpleasantness aside... I feel we are all *****s peddling our bodies, hearts and souls for money.
It is already legal.... in the spiritual sense... Why not in the sensual? Why should heart be included in the union of bodies.
whatever,
david

My "Hex-Wife" gets away with it!
Actually she is more of a "Gold-Digger" than anything. I tried the coal trick and it did'nt work!
But then I realized how happy I was when she was gone!
Life without her made me a rich man in more ways than one!
As far as being a hole, people do what people do......It's not my place to judge. What ever floats your boat as they say!

it doesn't make a diff to me...like jeremyboycool said, but since you brought it up
It's legal in germany, why is it illegal in the US? I think it should be legal...I'm not going to argue as to WHY it should be legal..since I think it shouldn't be illegal in ther first place....as with many other things in the USA....such as gambling, Illegal in a lot of states...
thinking about it why not make ALL these things legal and collect a tax?
That's mostly what the govt cares about anyways.... so say 10% fed tax on prostitution and x% local tax, heck of a way to make money if you ask me...

I agree with Hell_Yes on this, that's exactly what popped into my mind, was the abuse and almost slave like work the prostitiues do, and how the pimps treat them, then on top of that you have the brothels and stuff like that....if it were sanctioned somehow, and you were sure to not get diseases and stuff, maybe....but it's degrading I think also, like strip clubs....I'm not into strip clubs, but that's legal, go one step further, you have prostituion, might as well make it legal.
Well, I don't go to strip clubs either, and agree that it's degrading, but if a woman wants to there are no laws that stop her.Originally posted by drdoug99

I see no reason why prostitution should be any different. Maybe if it was legalized and more out-in-public then the shady drug/slave/kidnapping/underground prositution rings would stop.
Well I happen to agree that it should be legal too. Who cares what goes on between blah blah blah.. You have to remember though that the people that frequent prostitutes and prostitutes themselves really don't hold the same moral beliefs and judgement as joe 6pack. Hence there always seems to be alot of crime and general mayhem around the stroll. Thats my personal belief as to why its illegal, The kind of crime it brings with it, not the "crime itself".
She's presenting like a mandrill!
Just F.Y.I- I would love to have sex as much as any other guy, but un-like some people (Bolded so you know I mean "some") that don't have the moral values to wait until the wedding, and to buy sex? Desperate as h***, aren't they?Originally posted by Norm
At 14, paying for a kiss is immoral
Wait till he's 18 or 19 LOL
So trade that typical for something colorful, and if it's crazy live a little crazy!
Uh huh. So let's say your wife is having sex with your boss. Their buisness, so you'll just forget about it? Hrmph, nice logic.Originally posted by Norm
I wouldn't/haven't ever paid for it either.
There's more free sex than freeware software around. Why pay?
But I don't care what other people do if they both agree to it, their business, not mine.

The government would never legalize it simply because it would be impossible to track all the money being passed around. No legalization without revenues.
And of course STD's would permeate even further into our society.
Let's face it, this is a country that claims to side with human rights, and prostitution causes many ill effects like HY said that conflict with those rights.
Besides, no one on this computer is paying for sex

paft..... I am 17 and while you say it is wrong... so is lying and cheating and other stuff.. ?? but dont stop people... Making it illegal is a lil silly and also GOD gave us a CHOICE to do as we will.. up to each individual to do it.
Also, to Prostitue is to offer yaself for remuneration.. not for someone to OFFER you for sale.

If you are going to say damn, then you might as well say ass. None of them is 100% I know. What other people do is none of your bussiness as long as they do it in private.Originally posted by Paft
