Who thinks we should have sig images back?

Bring them back now! The board sucks without them!
Keep them off! I hated sig images.

Easy killer... Admin are in control and I don't think if we complain that it's going to do anything constructive..

Let the Admin do what they do.. I would like my SIG back too but untill they allow it there is nothing we can do.

As Brent stated in the other post.. He will only say it once.. so I don't think that this post will be effective.. JMO

ah ok,well the sig is not really that big of a deal either way,to me.here is my sig.

Moderators...this is an opinion poll.....don't think you can just go into polls and change them...if you changed every single post then why would anyone want to come here....please take the last option off...i did not put that in there originally

so what if its your site...we are the ones that fill it in...so we also are part of this site..i dont think moderators should change a poll that does not need to be changed

The forums also are what you guys make of them...

There've been mixed feelings about images in signatures for a long time, so we did have to decide.

Eventually we'll think of a way to limit signature sizes at some point.

Yes, Phillip, it is your site. But, how useful would it be if no-one came? It would be a waste of money to upkeep. If you insist in changing polls and posts, and removing sigs, you've effectively pissed everyone off. Also, I never thought of this site as a dictatorship until now. Nice move....

I'm not trying to supress your opinions in any way, just that for a poll to be fair there have to be reasonable alternatives...

One can easily make a biased poll by asking for example:

1. Turn them back on please !
2. Naugh, I hate images in signatures, I'm a moron and don't have a life !

1. This is still a user discussion and we do care about your opinions, as you can see from the poll there are mixed feelings about images in signatures.

2. The forums whole purpose is to help users and share opinions, what do images in signatures have to do with that ?

3. No, we haven't pissed everyone off, as a matter of fact at different points of time we've received many requests to turn off images in signatures, that users have huge signature images obstructing thread flow, making the forum harder to read and so on.

It's not our decision against users' demand, rather a decision we have to make because user opinion is split.

The speed increase I have seen since the images were diasabled makes it all worth it, IMO. The avatars are just fine and the sigs were getting way out of hand. Good job guys! Now I can actually get online here to discuss what's important. It was getting old to get 'busy signals' the last week.

What is really ruining this site is all the B!tchiing and whinning that has been going on. It appears to me that the Signatures are causing a problem in loading the pages because of there sizes(which we the members had control of) therefore causing a problem with the site itself. Now if you think about it, the site is Dedicated to speed, so it actually defeats the purpose if people can't load the pages.

I hope that they disable the Polls too, they are just cluttering the boards.

There is actually a java chat on the site, just that it's rarely used. As a matter of fact I'm working on integrating it with the forums.

Can't we all just get along! Does a signature really matter? It just sits at the bottom of your post anyway. Do people really look at your signature or pay attention to your actual post more?.... exactly ... If you want to have a signature, open your own site, own forum, and use a signature whenever you want. Until then, just wait for SG Moderators to come up with a decision.

I have to agree with Paft on admins or mods changing a poll posted by a member.
That's wrong in my opinion. Admins have the power, but it should only be used if necessary ie

to remove foul language), not for their own interests.

I just don't see it being right, no matter how it is presented to the members. Everyone seems to be on Paft about his opinion of the sig pics, and have let this Admin editing of polls slide by.

I know it's not much, and probably won't get out of control, but Paft is right, and Admins shouldn't edit polls.

I'm not in a knot over it, so please be easy on me, get Paft, he brought it up

I Hope the Board does not feel I started anything about my download of the sig this morning - I feel bad - and I can live with Sig download I have for 6 mths It does not matter to me - I was Just trying to find out if It Was My computer Or Good old 5.5. sp1 giveing me problems.
