Nice switch! lol
Things are well dull here. Wife's been gone in the Philippines for the last week...10...wait 11 days till her return. I gotta come up with lunch and dinner plans for 1. Time to dust off (literally) the crock pot me thinks. Got any food recipes? You know the kind when women aren't around.

With all the work you won't have time to buy X-Mas gifts.
Jeep is most excellent just a pesty intermittent check engine light. Code is reading O2 sensor (4 wire just before cat converter).
I still have some adobo in the fridge. Wifey made me tons of food before she left but that's nearly gone. lol

I get my fill of pork/ham from the PX brother!downhill wrote:Crock pot?
Beef stew is uber simple. I would suggest ham and beans but I'd bet a ham bone is in short supply where you are.
What irks the hell out of me is they sell the dacari mixes but no booze. lol

I love crock pot cooking. There are tons of recipes on the web. Find one that looks good and go for it. Food for a week to be sure!
My fav is plain old pot roast. Never use an expensive cut for this. The cheap cuts just taste better.
One beef roast. A couple of potatoes peeled and diced. A very large sliced onion. A couple of carrots peeled and sliced. A bit of beef rub..
Rub the roast down, and toss in the pot. Toss in the potatoes, the carrots and the onions slices and fill with water. Drool all day long as you smell this cooking.
Besides making a couple of good dinners, that beef makes killer sandwiches with a slice of onion.

I used to add water (broth actually). The wife actually got me to stop using water. We season the beef..toss in, toss in the veggies...I like using taters, carrots, onions, garlic, and often sliced mushrooms. She used to toss in a packet of dried onion soup mix, I like doing the spices individually.
Another option...toss in a can of cream of mushroom soup.
When you come home from work..there's enough water in all the ingredients which comes out...to have a few inches of super thick gravy on the bottom.

Problem, everytime I use potatoes/onions in the crock pot everything seems too watery.

True..but ya cooked it already! I gotta taste the local stuff. Must add checkmarks to my stomach (much like the kills of an Ace pilot are marked below their canopy) to keep track of "foods from around the globe".Joint Chiefs of Staff wrote:Thought you don't do frozen meat, just fresh meat.![]()
