Me and the black guy

A small thing I felt the other while moving the company van the other day. I live in metro Toronto.

As I was moving to do this I was walking up the street to simply move my van.
In doing that as a dirty tired old man I found a couple coming my way. I looked like a homeless person would with the dirt n me. But in that time I had been squeezed off the sidewalk by a younger black couple.

As I seee them walking towards me I broke my shoulder as you'd let a gentelman and his lady pass.They walked me almost off the side walk. My question was in my mind, a simple moment, what did I ever do to you?

From a simple situation, and my niece and nephew were feet away asking me where I was going I just felt they hated me. I'm a dirty white male doing his job and in the midst of it all I have 2 black people attacking me for friggin sidewalk space. Why can't I go up the street to my van to repark it without what I just walked through.

In reality I'd knock him out and then knock his old lady out too if it came down to it.
Why though? Why do I have to experience that? Why if a white man walks by a black man do we have to go through this ****? ****in answer me that.

Thats when you say hey excuse me. Then if he gives you crap and don't say I'm sorry. Pimp slap him and give him a beat down if front of his girlfriend. Then when he is bleeding on the ground you say to him "Put your teeth on the f----ing curb."

Maybe it doesn't have anything to do with the color of their skin. There are a-holes in every race on the planet, and it sounds like you had the displeasure of meeting two of them the other day.
It's just my opinion, so it really doesn't count for anything in your life, but I say try not to let it eat at you, be as the duck would be, let it roll off your back like water.

It's not worth getting riled up about stuff like this.. trust me, no matter
what race, you'll find people like that everywhere.
There have been a lot of people that have caused me problems in the past, that I could of easily pounded them into the ground.. or worse.. but in the end, it's better to take the higher road, and just acknowledge that you, are better then these people, because of taking "no action" against them.

I'm not saying be a total pacifist, as I believe in self-defense..
just in being on a higher mind set.

my mom was walking my grand mother in the hospital when three of biggest black chicks in town come walking down, almost knocking both my mother and grandmother down THEN had the nerve to get mad at my mother for walking where she was...the three hcicks were taking up most of the space in a 10 foot wide hallway...

Some feel entitled to be@ssholes because of what happened over 200 years ago

Yea no ****, I could say the same for a white bar my friend went to last night, we were the only mexicans there. Of course we got glares for awhile, do I care? Not really, not worth it to start anything. My friend was ignored by the bartender for awhile before he could get a drink..oh well, what is funny is that they seemed uncomfortable with us being there when the ratio was 2 to 50-70 of white to mexican

Why does the fact that they were a black couple having anything to do with your anger about having to move past them on the sidewalk?

It DOES have to do with color and I'm so sick of it. I'm not some idiot that has a situation with somebody and looks at color as the excuse. There is a certain attitude out there between colors. Deny it if you want, but it's there.

I look at people as individuals and always have.

Would you have been as angry if it was a white couple who was rude enough to push you off the sidewalk?

So what color is the right color? If I took to heart the amount of crap I get because im brown I would have a breakdown...but I could care less, it is irrelevant to my life.

There is no right color. It's having respect for a fellow human being and not sucking your teeth at me cause my skin doesn't look like yours.

That's a good point, yes I would, but color does come into the equation. Maybe I'm just as guilty with my perception. There IS an attitude bewteen us though. I get it more from none white people and I'm only speaking what I know or have experienced throughout my life.

Cause I'm tired of being stared down just for existing. I'll sit on my front porch and have a smoke. You know who it is that stares me down like I murdered their mommy? The black guy. Maybe I did stink, so what. There are a couple Canadian soldiers just sent to prison for beating a homeless person to death. I bet he stank too.
