Canadian Ppl

Post by Annalysa »

I have some questions. It looks like in July I will be moving Canada. We are going to start my sponsorship after he pays his canadian taxes. What job markets are available. I dont have my degree finished. I have my A+ cert and will be working on my linux+ i have visual basic and java experience as well as management.

next question is there anything we are forgetting. We will fall under the common law marriage sponorship thing. We have that under control I think. We will be going to Detriot probably next weekend.
We will live in young and finch area. I am scared. Thanks Lorri

jobs - Toronto shouldnt be too shabby, lots of websites like monster.ca and stuff like that have jobs. Probably go around to futureshop / places like that and drop off resume.

I live in BC and i love it, absolutely beautiful :)

Young and Finch is alright. You're on the subway line, minutes away from downtown.

As for jobs...I haven't had to look for one in a while so I don't know whats out there. I'd say you'd be alright though. :)

Toronto is the only place I wan't to live (with San Fran coming in second). I love it here.

I think i am gonna hate the two months away from Cyril more than anything, that and leaving school and my family. However its only a 12 hour drive back home. I am gonna learn to speak Russian from his mom. all i know now is hte bad words. This all came up at 5 but we have come up with a game plan in two hours and researched the sponsorship thing.

You will be able to find a basic job at furuteshop or staples etc wiith your certs... dont worry at all you wil do fine!

I would reccomend finding carreer consultation ( there are alot of resources and grants etc available) in every city there is usually a job shop or something similar which is free and can help you find suitable employment
I would try to get something better than staples though .. continue looking for better I am sure you will be succesful. ;)

I was going to post a link to that thread, but the SG search results for "bullsh|t" were too numerous

sometimes you have to think outside the box to get inside the box ;).

My only advice would to stay near or in a large city. No much work in those smaller towns. I should know, I live in one.

YGPM

It took me nearly 3 years to become a landed immigrant in Canada. By the end of year one I broke under the pressure and hired an immigration lawyer to handle my case. The best $3000 I ever spent.

I lived in Canada while waiting for my Landed Status to pass. The only thing allowing me to was having a Canada Work visa with emphasis on a technical background.

My wife born and raised in Canada.
We dont want to be forced to get married till were financially ready which we are but were not does that make any sense?
To be completely realistic it's easier when your married. Trust me.

Look we had to provide wedding photos, even match books from our wedding day. There was a list we had to accommodate for Immigration. And...Immigration could come by anything they liked to see if in fact we were actually living together. It got crazy.

I'm not trying to scare you. I'm just preparing you for the real battle ahead.

young and finch area

Thats where I live, what building are you moving into? I can help you out as much as possible when you get here if you like.

Its a pretty safe area, and lots of shops near bye.

AREA INFO
If it matters to you the ethnic background of the area is quite asian. Most people are polite, quiet and keep to themselves. Crime is low aswell.
shopping is abundant in the area
technical jobs will most likely be found further downtown though, thats at least where I have had my luck

Looks like history and poli sci as my grade point average is gonna be around a 3.0 here in the states. Which is different at the university. I would be a A student there. I am sure its gonna be harder. Yeah The monet, it looks cool were on the fourth floor. We have come up with about 3 different if scenarios, worst case is I am gonna be visiting there till we can figure out what to do. We are going to canada next weekend, to talk to a The family and decide if we need to get a lawyer. If all works out ok I will be there in july if not I will be there in sept when our home is done. I cant find out if they allow pets. Which kinda sucks. I assume since its ours they would. I am sure I will meet you and IMMY when I get there. I am kinda looking forward to it. All the bases are getting covered and were up most of the night talking about what we need to do. Not bad for knowing only 2 days.
I am awesome.
