fifth one down.....

I may have one of everything Doug Adams ever published.
I want to learn more and more to see as beautiful what is necessary in things; then I shall be one of those who make things beautiful. Amor fati: let that be my love henceforth! I do not want to wage war against what is ugly. I do not want to accuse; I do not even want to accuse those who accuse. Looking away shall be my only negation. And all in all and on the whole: some day I wish to be only a Yes-sayer.

"What's it like?"

"It's unpleasantly like being drunk."

"What's wrong with that?"

"Ask a glass of water."

Douglas Adams died a short while ago, a terrific loss to the genre. The Dirk Gently books are good as well as HHGTTG. His last book, "The Salmon of Doubt", was unfinished but available anyway.

Some say that the evolution of the Babel fish could not have been accidental, and hence that it proves the non-existence of God.

I bought the gold leaf not-quite-leather hard back version...contains all the books...the cover is kinda puffy n squishy

Didn't God like... prove himself out of existence? Like... he had proven he exists, and since he required the faith of the people to exist, he couldn't anymore, as faith was replaced by knowledge? Or am I thinking of another book now?

Anyway, i hope we got some time before they build the insterstellar superhighway. :D

>>> Or am I thinking of another book now?

Correct book. From memory, the argument was promulgated by "Oolong Caloophid". The babel fish proves there must be a god, and since his existance is proven, he can no longer exist. He then goes on to prove black is white and is knocked over on a zebra crossing.
