Verizon DSL connection slows after 9:00 pm

Post by ooops »

I recently took the Verizon DSL upgrade to 1.5/128 and in the last few weeks have noticed that sometime after 9:00 PM my gaming ping times go from avg. 25-50ms to 200 - 300+ ms.
It's like I'm on a cable connection and everyone in the neighborhood jumps online.
Any thoughts ????

Just keep setting your clock back to 8pm and you should be fine.
anything is possible - nothing is free

What you are experiencing is unfortunate but understandable.

With a dsl connection you have a direct line to the CO. The internet onramp is still shared by all of your isps customers in that area.

You still have traffic jams, they just tend to be less pronounced with dsl as the bottleneck occurs further upstream.

Cheers,

Skye

OK ........ I'm now getting off the floor after LMAO ...... thanks

But...... I've had DSL with them for over 3 yrs.

It was a 768/128 connection with no "late night" slowdowns.

I'll just monitor it for awhile.
