Need to make a sign in Spanish...Help

Any one here speak spanish? I need to make a sign that say's

"We do not have a no pass no pay special"

If you could translate this into spanish I would be grateful.

Thanks, one of the stores I work at is mainly hispanic and out of those maybe 20% speak english. Most of them have this misconception that if there car fails emissions testing that it's free. The truth is if we did that we would go out of business in about 2 weeks.

I don´t know if it´s too late, but that sign doesn´t make any sense, at all.
The sign should go about something like this:
"Si no pasa, paga igual"

And hayc59 where do you get off speaking spanish like that. You must be using one of them translator you find on the interweb, otherwise your spanish teacher is a no good bum.

Verbatim translations don't always work. It is the idea that you are translating, not the words...

I was a bit confused with what Sid wanted translated, at first, however he clarified.

Mondiol is correct with a more reasonable wording, "If you don't pass, you still pay the same"... In a way that makes sense to latinos...

PS. I believe that Mondiol is an Argentino and lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Sud America...

What a city that is! I have had many good times there...

I would go with Mondiol's suggestion. It is nice and to the point. "No pass, still pay." LOL.. I like it.

When I read hayc59's, I was like WTF ? I can't even translate it. (At least not into anything coherent.) LOL

Maybe you should request it be translated in "Mexican" spanish not Spain spanish. From what I have been told they are different and you might actually insult someone. Someone once told me they asked for eggs from someone and translated in the other form she was asking for the persons.... man hood I guess you can say. So I would be careful if I were you

My profesora in college was telling me about a time in Spain that she ordered some "leche caliente". The waiter gave her a pretty good look and then she got a laugh out of it when she told her professor in Spain about what happened and he told her why.

You have to be careful of what you say... that is for sure.

Dialects can definitely get you. I remember once when I needed to have some animal heads "mounted" to the wall. Well, "pissar", "to mount", can give different meanings...

The group of guys standing around me had a surprised look on their face when I said we needed to mount the animals... Heheheheheheeh

Mexican Spanish is often called Spanglish because ALOT of words are borrowed from English and Spanish so that, at least in Cali, if you try and speak "proper spanish" it'll be hard to carry on a proper conversation without alot of examples and such

paga = you pay (formal sense) igual = the same (like it looks in English)

You should be better off with this one, Sid. It is much more direct, short, and to the point.
