Man I am sore today

Post by Ghosthunter »

I guess I overdid it with the exercise last night, my legs are killing me..lol

My legs were so sore I could not do my walking this morning, I feel kind of guilty hopefully I can do it later.

It must have been the jogging that really got me.

The first few times running will get you with the "day after". Especially going up stair flights...LOL...ouch.

One thing....important to "walk off" after your jog....stretch again after you are done. Else your muscles will really get you the next day because of something that deposits in your muscles immediately after a good run. I forget what that "thing is" that stays in your muscles...but "walking off" the jog immediately afterwards, and also stretching during that cool down, helps combat against that.

You must give your legs a 24hr rest...trust me. Maybe warm them up a little today, but dont work them out. It won't do anything for ya.

I think it is more important to stretch after working out than before, unless you are doing something that does not allow for a warmup in your workout. If you are walking untill you feel like jogging then I would spend more time stretching after you work out.

Good luck

Actually that delayed onset soreness is called DOMS. It actually is not caused by lactic acid but supposedly tiny tears in the muscle fibers. This is actually good because when the muscle repairs it will repair stronger and thicker. Best thing to do is take it easy on the sore muscles for several days.

Here's a link on DOMS-

BTW I did not know If I eat too little calories that can hinder me losing weight.

How do I know how mcuh I should eat? I think I am guilty of not eating enough, because I was feeling dizzy and light headed yesterday. I have been trying to eat as little as possible.
