what does jonesing mean? i know it means your craving or whatever....but where did the term come from?

Has anyone ever tried hard iced tea? I bought a 6 pack of Twisted Tea last night....OMG, it is so good. Tastes like a nicely brewed iced tea, with no alcohol taste at all. the 6 pack was gone in 10 minutes, lol :D

heh... well, i am a drinker (big surprise there), but i can actually respect someone's decision to abstain more than i can respect my own decision to partake.

if it weren;t for my work (or actually, how much i do so), i would probably be in much worse shape than i am (too little time to make a sound habit out of anything for that matter). i have some distant personal experience in other substances (kicking addiction), so i can definitely say......

it's really easy if you really want (or don't want) it. the strength to beat it comes from within. EA, you have the power. and more than that, you want it....... it's a breeze after that. just watch the others and laugh :) .

good job man. Like Faust mentioned, if you want to and are ready to, it's all good :) I know it can be hard, just think about how much of a stronger person you'll be after it....besides, think about the money you'll save. Drinking (and smoking) is one of the most expensive habits, that have no real upside to them.

I drink once and awhile, but not very often at all really. The thing with me is, drinking (and drugs) doesn't really have the same affect on me as most people. I don't actually get "drunk" so I don't see an upside to drinking myself....all that happens to me is I get tired, no matter how much I drink....it always messes people up if I'm at a party or something because I'm basically normal while others are getting drunk. I don't know if that's lucky or not :) I consider it so, I'm sure others wouldn't. I like the fact I'm always in control and don't act silly....nothing to regret later ;) But others would hate it, some people like the drunkeness feeling....to each his own. All I can say is congrats, you'll be better for it. It's always good to test and challenge yourself

I respect someone choosing to abstain in order to completely prevent making out with someone wearing a velour jogging suit named "T.J." and not feeling the slightest bit sickened by their chronic facial eczema.

hehe, I have beer in my basement refrigerator that was put there last Xmas! The only time I drink anymore is when I get a craving for a beer along with homemade pizza or when out to dinnner I'll have a beer or two.

It's a hoot to watch others get drunk. It's much more fun teasing them than it is to be drunk with them!

As some here know, I've done my share of other substances. Been 18 years since I did anything like that and I don't miss it a bit. I didn't buy into the "adiction is a medical disease" bullsh*t and just quit doing it.

I used to get loaded because:
1. It made me feel good.
2. It numbed the feelings I was trying to avoid experiencing.

My advice to the youger folks:
Someday you may discover just why you want to get loaded. To do that you must abstain for an extended period of time, at least 6 months to a year, and only then will you realize the feelings that drugs and alcohol have "shut off".

I said to the late Nicky Hopkins once (famous keyboardist for the Stones and other bands) that I had respected his anti-drug promotions he had made and that he had an influence on my decision to quit. He commented back to me, "Thank you", and smiled. Then gave an ear to ear grin and said," but we had a helluva lot of fun and good times didn't we!". I agreed!
