Yeah...I think 1.5 is the magic number. Hopefully, once they get their act together, they can kick it up to 2.5, but I'm sure it'll take a bunch of people kicking and screaming...

The good news is, that with the combining of Comcast and ATT, both the cable system and the internet will be managed by one organization. You should at least see some consistency.

I think that what we all will see in the year to come is tiered service, with caps on upload, download, and on total traffic per month. Those folks that download 2 gb a day from usenet or wherever will pay for that privilege.

Stand by for a lot of complaining, but nobody can be expected to run a business that gives away money, and that is what is happening today with a few intense users of bandwidth.

There was a time when businesses that had a dominant position knew that they had to maintain higher, not lower, standards of responsiveness to the market and to their customers. Let's see if these folks are smart or if they just give us the same old lousy service, now that they are in a position to set rates that may actually make money.

Like always, this will get much worse before it gets better. And, like always, the consumer will be on the dirty end of the stick. In the not too far away future, we will be saying, "I sure wish we had (only) the 1.5mbps/128kbps caps with unlimited download/upload for less then $150.00."

And watch us all flock to 'affordable' DSL -- YUCK!

This is exactly why some people have such an extreme dislike for Corporate America.

Bend over Mr/Ms Consumer 'cause here comes the big one!

Vaseline will be provided for $200 per application. Users are not allowed to supply their own lubricant. If you choose no lubricant, you can (read: WILL) be charged $150 per 15 minutes for cleanup of any blood or feces due to required penetration.

Thank you for being an ATT Comcast customer. Is there anything else I can do for you today?

A download limit? You can only download 2GB a month?

Screw that! Comcast is being a bunch of llamas.

I thought technology makes things faster and cheaper as time goes by?....This is bull....I would rather deal with comcast than ATT, however. ATT broadband does not even give a local service number or the address in the phone book. You have to call a general 800 # and pump the info out of the lug nuts they got answering the phones.
Caps, I'd like to cap there Asses. I spent almost a hour on the phone with ATT HIGH SPEED INTERNET to try and increase my speed from a pathetic 136k. It still sucks...Why don't they just admit thats all I will see for a while?
