Wireless speed does not increase with provisioned speed?

Post by coil_nine »

The wireless speed remains 30.1 Mbps after increasing the provisioned speed from 25 Mbps to 150 Mbps, Comcast.

Can I expect only 30 Mbps with 802.11n? What could be throttling it?
  • Tested at speedtest.net firewall off
  • The wired speed through the router increased from 30.1 to 141 Mbps which is acceptable
  • wireless router: Netgear WNR3500L n300 Gigabit wireless
  • Network adapter in computer: Qualcomm Atheros AR956x
  • Signal is strong by the little Windows 5-bar indicator

Oh. i kind of hoped for some reply. I have done everything possible with the analyzer and optimizer.
No ideas? Swap out the routers from "n" to "ac"?
