Canon MF4150 Image Class - SCAN PROBLEM

Post by Qui-Gon John »

I was helping someone with a Canon MF4150 Image Class and we have a strange problem. It is connected USB to a computer with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

I installed all the usual Canon Drivers and Helper Apps.

When we print, it responds right away, no problems.

But when we scan, we open the program on the computer, choose to SCAN whichever type of scan, (document or picture). At this point there is a delay of 30 to 45 seconds before anything happens. Then the scanner seems to "wake up", it begins the scan and all the rest proceeds as it should. This happens even if the printer/scanner has not gone back to sleep. For example, print, then right after go in and try this scanning.

It does not seem like it should take so long to actually start scanning in the document.

I already tried making sure I had the latest drivers, etc.

Anyone have any ideas?

Is the printer on a static LAN IP address...so that ScanGear can find it easily each time?

Hi YoS, as I said, it is connected to the PC via a USB Cable.
