I've been wanting to get my hands on Engenius hardware, but haven't had the opportunity yet.

If you're asking about budget wireless for a conference room, I have had good experience using a wrt54gl flashed with DD-WRT firmware, converted to access point mode. You can even get PoE injectors for them. Last year I did a nursing home with 10x of those units, each with a 9 high gain antenna pair from this place and all with PoE.

Also check out that place for your external patio setup.
For external setups, you'll want an exterior high gain antenna that has a grounding wire. And you'll want an APC Net Arrest cat5 surge protector for the connecting patch cable, so the rest of your network is protected.

We managed the wireless and security for a fund raiser last summer and we used 3 Engenius APs and they worked very well. I apologize I do not recall the model numbers of the devices we had. The guy I was working with had used them at a few other sites and was familiar with them. He loves them.

I'd certainly go with them again if I ran into a situation that needed an AP. Most places I do work for now are still using the WRT54g. I use the tomato software with them.
