Positioning the Pagefile on 2 Separate Hard Drives

Post by Larkina »

If you have 2 partitioned hard drives where would you place the pagefile on each? On the Primary drive you have your OS and nothing else I'm told except a pagefile and on your Secondary drive you should place the pagefile up front in front of any other partitions for quicker access. Is this not correct? It is to my understanding that Windows places a pagefile automatically for your OS or should you manually place the pagefile and if so I quess there is no where else to place the pagefile except behind the OS partition on the Primary drive. I need some help please and also what is the command for setting a a Data Partition. I've never understood how to setup a Partition for Data.

Check THIS link for all the info you need on the page file.

For a data partition, just create a basic partition.

Will the system automatically recognize that it's meant for data like the pagefile partition?
