Windows AD HELP!

Post by vvarrior »

Have two servers under Windows 2003 One is a Domain Controller and the other I'm currently installing Microsoft Exchange and I'm currently getting the following error "Setup encountered an error while trying to contact the Windows Active Directory" "Failed to contact the Schema Master Server for the Active Directory Forest" Can any1 help me set this up???? I have the Windows Administrative Tools setup on the Exchange Server but can't get this working. Is it something I have to set on the Domain Controller???

Thanks in Advance!

Sounds like a DNS entry is missing. Was the schema master ever on a different server that no longer exists?
User the Admin tools to ensure that the DC is the schema master.

try running ipconfig/ registerdns on the DC and also run the ADPREP tool on the DC from the exchange CD.
