If Kerry is elected
If Kerry is elected
Will you support him? Will you put aside all the ill-will that has been cast at him, keep him in your prayers(if you pray)?
Or will you support the attack dogs, who will look over every and anything possible with a fine toothed comb, in the hopes that some, any scandal can be generated and more division drawn.
Just curious, I was reading an article in this weeks TIME magazine about the division and polarization of our nation in the shadow of hte current presidential campaign.

If Kerry is president I'll support the stuff I believe should be supported and i'll vote against the stuff that I believe shouldn't be.
Just like with any president.
No pres. is perfect, I like some of what Bush is doing, and I don't like some stuff Bush is doing, I like some of the stuff Kerry is proposing, and I don't like some of the stuff he is proposing.
I think we should have 2 presidents personally. One democrat and one republican, then we'd get the best of both worlds!
Talk about a nation UNITED then!

Because I do not respect him now. My feelings about him wouldn't change if he were President, but I would support him because it's the right thing to do. But only support on things that I believe are right, now if he started letting gays have more rights and loosening the laws on abortion, then my support for him would go down the drain. So you can say that I would only support him on things that I believe in, otherwise, I wont.Blisster wrote:why would you have no respect for him, Prey?

Yes I would pray for him and support him in any action that is in accord with the things of God as well as to be converted to the Christian faith which I do even now. However I would also pray against him in anything that he tries to support that is against the ways of God. The problem is that he stands for so much that defies God most of my prayers would be against him.Blisster wrote:Will you support him? remember, like i have said many a time before. john kerry is a communist sympathizer. We here in the east call him the pink menace. So please, vote for President Bush so he can continue to make this country stronger. See, President bush does not support the Liberal Elite Snob A-holes. they are such annoying people. Liberal a-holes want to take money from your wallet to support the people that are too lazy to work. Need I say more.
And speaking of Moore. That poor excuse for a human actually thinks he some sort of God.
I'm steamed. Time to goto the people's recreation arena and work out.
Good night Fellow communists. My comrades. We'll teach those filthy capitalists a thing or 2 or 3.
Remember my fellow dumb scum, nobody leaves the KGB.

When did he condemn all members of the United States Armed Services as War Criminals?
Spineless Hypocrite who caters to the masses? Could not the same be said of GWB?
and what do you mean by "so-called" christian beliefs?

If GWV catered to the masses, we wouldn't be in Iraq. And by so called beliefs, I mean that he's pulling the same BS that JFK pulled when he was running. Saying that he wouldn't let his beliefs dictate how he makes his decisions.....and we all know how "Christian" JFK was.
Either way, if he does win, I pray that he does a good job for this country, but I will never see him as a man of honor, dignity or respect.

Many people here in the US take war very lightly as it's only something they see on TV. Many people are not directly affected. I agreed with the invasion of Iraq from the start and still believe in it.
You cannot flip-flop on war when it starts to get ugly. I knew this war would not be easy and GWB told the the nation and the world that it would not be easy. What is going on now in Iraq is of no surprise to me.
A clinical, stealthy, high-tech war is always preferrable, but that's not always possible and certainly not in this case.
Now, just for moment, just think how a country like Iraq would fight this war if things were turned 180-degrees and they had the power, with Saddam at the helm and we had and we were the ones living in the sandbox.
The war would be over in 18-20 minutes. The time it would take to launch an all out nuclear attack that would wipe us from the face of the planet. This is how these radical muslims think.
This is a real war we are fighting here folks. Will it take yet another 9|11 to re-awake the population of the USA again?

If anything, What he probably said was BUSH put the troops in a position that MADE them war criminals.
Remember, on top of being a guy that volunteered for vietnam and swift boat duty, this is the guy thats currently supposed to be "catering to the masses".
Even if you're sure he feels that way, theres no way he would be caught dead saying it.
Funny is when a fat lady walks around while someone plays the tuba. Once you've seen that, you'll never laugh at anything else. Except maybe a skeleton dancing around while someone plays the xylophone, which is almost exactly the opposite of a fat lady walking around while someone plays the tuba. Well, a skeleton is the opposite of a fat lady. But is a xylophone the opposite of a tuba? History will decide.

On 23 April, 1971, John Kerry testified under oath before Congress that Americans in Vietnam had ''personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam. Before his testimony was over, he said, ''We all did it.'"
"These were not isolated incidents but crimes committed on a day-to-day basis with the full awareness of officers at all levels of command."
Respect it.

Too late he already said it in 1971.

A lot of that stuff went down.
Suppose you were there and you saw that happening. Would you lie about it?
He was there, getting shot on a swift boat. And he volunteered to go while opther politicans of this day and age were weaseling out, including ones you support.
Who are you to claim you know none of that happened? You hadn't even been born yet.

No I wouldn't lie about it. But I'd know my role and keep my mouth shut.
Respect it.
Sorry Scott but I'm going to have to call you on that one.....If your talking about Kerry’s testimony before congress...he was repeating what he'd heard from others and from the "Winter Soldier" investigation......If not, I'm respectfully requesting links to this...ScottE wrote:I will not support him.

Oops...nevermind..I see that indeed this is what it's about. You should read his speech in full context to judge for yourself what he was talking about. John O'Neil has spent a lifetime quoting just a few words from that famous speech to anyone who'd listen. O'Neil was go boy for Nixon...

Well, thats where we differ.
Basically, you're saying you have no respect for him because he stood up and told the truth.

I've read the whole testimony. I know what he said.

I don't like him, and I'm not going to vote for him. That's how I feel and that's all that matters to me. You guys can vote for whoever you want.
Respect it.

Define "war time" How was vietnam a legitimate war? You really think america was in any danger? Before they were sent over by the hundreds of thousands to die, that is?
Some tiny, hole-in-the-ground, disease-infested (no offense to them) nation in south east asia makes a political decision that the US doesn't like, and become communist amongst themselves...
So they bomb the living hell out of it. I've been over there, its pathetic that the US would even waste their time on it. They threaten no-one, save for the flu-bugs that come out of there.
You really think a "war" like that is worth dying for AND lying about so that it can continue?
Suppose someone told you Bush was leading you to jump off a cliff? Would you keep walking?

I want to learn more and more to see as beautiful what is necessary in things; then I shall be one of those who make things beautiful. Amor fati: let that be my love henceforth! I do not want to wage war against what is ugly. I do not want to accuse; I do not even want to accuse those who accuse. Looking away shall be my only negation. And all in all and on the whole: some day I wish to be only a Yes-sayer.
The president is supposed to "cater to the masses". Its called democracy. If GWV catered to the masses, we wouldn't be in Iraq
Do you have a better suggestion??
