Well, the place where I was born doesn't even exist any longer.
It was North Tarrytown, NY, which was "assimilated" by Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow. So you probably won't see it on any current map, but Tarrytown should be close enough.
Now, I'm in upstate NY in the the Queensbury/Glens Falls/Lake George area.

Actually, I had to look it up, but I was close...
"The Kingdom of the Netherlands is a constitutional monarchy"
http://www.koninklijkhuis.nl/UK/monarchy/monarchy.html
In effect, the king/queen is mostly fulfilling representative duties, the real decision making is parliamentary on most issues. Much like in the UK. A difference though is that the Netherlands have a complex code of law, and in the UK it's more case law if I am not mistaken. Basically same deal though.
Oh, and yes, for German it's "Federal Republic of Germany", or "Bundesrepublik Deutschland", even though we claim to have a democratic government. In Civ3 democracy and republic are different, now I am confused

I assume you are talking about the FairPlay scoreboards? I think that is one the east side of Des Moines. I work pretty near there. If I remember right, a friend of mine in high-school (15 years ago) his dad worked there in management. (I might be wrong) Zahn was his last name.

I beleive the difference is that in a republic, all the citizens vote on all the issues, and participate fully in the law-making process. In a democracy, we choose people who reperesent us who then participate in the law-making process. A democracy is a deffered republic-- and the two are sometimes used interchangibly.
